During the Inception phase, the CONNECTA 2 Team conducted a series of visits in the Western Balkans region, meeting with the key stakeholders in order to present the goals and potential of CONNECTA 2 and to discuss possibilities of assistance on the Economic and Investment Plan for the Western Balkans related projects.
Starting in December and continuing in the months of January and February, the visits were organised in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia, including meetings with the stakeholders’ line ministries and institutions involved in the EIP flagship projects in the digital future, clean energy and sustainable transport sectors, National IPA Coordinators, National Investment Committees, International Financing Institutions and the respective EU Delegations/Office.
Prior to visiting the Western Balkans partners, CONNECTA 2 had met both the Transport Community Treaty Secretariat and the Energy Community Secretariat in order to discuss the transport and energy reforms and the potential for related assistance. The Team also conducted consultations with the Regional Cooperation Council.
