CONNECTA experts present the Five-Year Road Maintenance Plans and the Strategic Framework for ITS Deployment in the Western Balkans at the first Road Technical Committee meeting

The first meeting of the Road Technical Committee of the Transport Community, organized by the Transport Community Permanent Secretariat, took place in Belgrade on 12 February.

CONNECTA Team attended the meeting to share the main findings and recommendations from the two studies prepared under CONNECTA CTRM assignments – the Preparation of Five-Year Maintenance Plans for Road TEN-T indicative extensions to the Western Balkans and the Strategic Framework for implementation of ITS on TEN-T Core/Comprehensive Network on the Western Balkans.

The importance of both CONNECTA studies has been recognized by the Road Technical Committee (RTC) and accordingly the WB partners are asked to assess the possibility to incorporate the result of the Road Maintenance Plans in their maintenance planning. The RTC members also agreed on the need to continue the legal approximation and implementation of ITS legislation and preparation/adoption of ITS national strategies.
