CONNECTA experts attend the Western Balkans Road Summit in Tirana

The Western Balkans Road Summit – Shaping the future: safe, smart and sustainable roads, held on 7 June in Tirana, gathered the ministers from the Western Balkans, representatives of the European Commission and practitioners of road sector for discussions on how to create a climate resilient, intelligent, and resource-efficient road network in the Western Balkans. The event was organised  by the Transport Community Permanent Secretariat, the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), under the auspices of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy of Albania.

CONNECTA Experts attended the Summit and participated in two panel discussions:

  • Delivering the vision of making Intelligent Transport Systems a reality,

addressing the ‘Preparation of ITS strategies in Western Balkans’ topic; and

  • Road’s contribution to carbon neutrality, moving towards zero emission fuels and infrastructure

addressing the ‘Deployment of e-charging stations in Core/Comprehensive Network’ topic.
