Under the auspices of the Transport Community Permanent Secretariat, the 15th meeting of the Technical Committee on Railway took place in Pristina on 22 February.
The participants discussed how to eliminate barriers to interoperability and create a fully integrated system in the region. In addition, the main achievements of 2022 were summed up, followed by a discussion on priorities for 2023. Harmonisation of the national rail legislation with the EU Rail Acquis, implementation of railway infrastructure projects, access to the European Electronic Register of Vehicles (EERV) and future trainings were some of the topics the meeting focused on.
A CONNECTA expert attended the meeting to present the ITS Strategy in the Western Balkans.
The meeting was one of the three back-to-back events (including the Rail Excellence Summit) organised this week in Pristina by the Transport Community Permanent Secretariat, with a focus on building a user-friendly, efficient and sustainable rail system in the Western Balkans.
